Program Description

The bachelor’s degree program in Pharmacy is designed for all applicants who want to gain in-depth theoretical-practical knowledge in the field of pharmacy, and pharmacology, link their professional activities to the research, development and production of drugs, as well as conducting research in relevant scientific centres.

Aim and Objectives 

The aim of the BA in Pharmacy academic program is to prepare qualified and professional pharmacists well equipped with profound practical and theoretical knowledge. Our program graduates will possess analytical thinking and will be able to conduct research in the field of pharmaceutics, develop new medications, assist the production as well as pursue a career at scientific research centres. We create a collaborative environment corresponding to both national and European quality assurance standards and market demand. The course offers all the necessary tools and techniques, skills, and capabilities to students to obtain both practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of pharmaceutics.

The choice of elective subjects depends on the student’s preferences and future career plans. The list of electives is updated annually by the Chair, taking into account the rapid pace of change in the labour market and economy.

The complete list of elective subjects could be collected from the Chair of Pharmacy. The elective courses can also be chosen from the list of subjects by the Department of Law, Foreign Languages and Management and IT.

Pre-postgraduate internship. The last semester of the bachelor’s degree program is fully devoted to professional internships, thesis defence, and final exams. The internship lasts 8 weeks, it is held in different workshops of pharmacies RA. During this time, the student prepares his / her final thesis and is given 2 weeks extra for defence preparations. The Chair of Pharmacy ensures that the topics of the dissertation are in line with the priorities of pharmaceuticals and healthcare development, as well as the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Career Prospects:

The graduate of the educational program can work as a specialist in the field of pharmacology and pharmaceutical production, pharmacist, and pharmacology in pharmacies, in different drug companies and in research institutions. Can hold other positions related to pharmacology in the state system. Graduates will be able to start a successful career as a pharmacist in hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, as well as become an integral part of the pharmaceutical industry. They can also start their own retail or wholesale business in the pharmaceutical industry while maintaining further professional development as a researcher or pharmaceutical specialist.

  • Explaining the contemporary physicochemical methods utilized for qualitative and quantitative research of drugs, pharmacological and herbal raw materials, in accordance with the defining technical documents of various pharmacopoeias.
